Chris Lyons is the head of the private credit group where he is responsible for the sourcing, underwriting and management of all private debt securities Voya Investment Management invests on behalf of its clients. Chris has focused exclusively on the private debt markets for the firm since 1993, originally joining the team at the analyst level. Additional related experience includes work as a commercial bank line officer, commercial bank credit officer and debt capital markets specialist with SunTrust Banks, Inc. In addition to his duties in the private debt arena, he also serves on the executive leadership team for proprietary assets and is chairman of the Voya credit committee. Chris holds a BS in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Paul Aronson, CFA

Paul Aronson is a team lead on the Private Credit investment grade team at Voya Investment Management and is a member of the Voya Investment Management Senior Leadership team. He has more than 30 years of capital markets experience, having worked with Merrill Lynch, Lincoln National and Delaware Investments, prior to joining the firm in 2001. He is responsible for investing in infrastructure, utilities, and project finance private debt offerings and serves on the Voya credit committee. Paul serves on the Board of Directors of the Private Placement Investors Association (PPIA), an industry group comprised of the 40 largest investors in the Private Credit market. Paul holds a BA and an MBA from Cornell University, and the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Greg R. Addicks, CFA

Greg Addicks is the head of private high yield at Voya Investment Management. He has taken leadership roles in structuring, negotiating and managing restructurings in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico and several other countries. This included acting as lead negotiator/chairman of official and ad hoc creditors’ committees. In previous positions at Voya, Greg focused on international private credits with a concentration in emerging markets. He invested in and managed a variety of structured and unsecured debt securities in over 20 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Prior to joining the firm, Greg worked for NationsBank (and predecessors) from 1990 to 1997, mainly in the small- and middle-market corporate banking area. Greg has a BS in business administration from the University of Georgia, an MS in finance from the Georgia State University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Gaurav Ahuja, CFA

Analyst, Private Credit High Yield

Gaurav Ahuja is a vice president on the private credit high yield team at Voya Investment Management and has been on the team since 2008. He is a lead analyst on new investments and underperforming credits. On the new investment side, Gaurav sources and underwrites new investment opportunities, conducts due diligence, coordinates with internal counsel and monitors the team’s portfolio companies. His role with underperforming credits includes analyzing, negotiating and managing all aspects of restructuring transactions on behalf of the firm. His experience in this role includes exposure to a wide variety of sectors and geographies including traditional U.S. credits and project finance, Australian commodities, European industrial and banking sector. Gaurav began his career at Voya in 2006, going through the firm’s leadership rotational program which provided the opportunity to work with Voya professionals in the areas of risk management, portfolio management and public investment grade trading. Before joining Voya, Gaurav spent four years at ICICI Bank and Yes Bank in India originating and underwriting corporate bank debt. In these roles he was responsible for managing a portfolio of over 25 middle market corporates and ensuring client-level profitability for the bank by managing all aspects of the bank’s association with the client including managing relationships, new product marketing, loan underwriting monitoring and client servicing. Gaurav earned a MBA from Emory University, where he was a Moore’s Scholar, and a BS in business administration from Delhi University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Matthew Fishman

Matthew Fishman is an analyst for the private high yield credit team, which he joined in 2014. Prior to joining the team, he worked as an analyst on the securitized product team at Voya Investment Management. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Bayview Asset Management for eight years focusing on whole loan and RMBS valuation and analytics. Matt earned a BBA from Tulane University’s AB Freeman School of Business, and an MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Peter F. Komarek, CFA

Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager, Private Credit

Peter Komarek joined the firm in 2000 and has had responsibilities for developing and implementing an alternative asset strategy for the General Account Insurance Companies as well as leading a team underwriting private credit transactions. From 2001-2003 he was the primary person responsible for investing in a diversified portfolio of private equity funds for the $60 billion general account portfolio. Since 2006 he developed a revised alternative asset plan to significantly increase the alternative asset holdings of the U.S. insurance companies. From 1993-2000 at ReliaStar, Peter was an analyst and then portfolio manager responsible for a $5.5 billion portfolio of investment grade and high yield fixed income securities. Prior to then, Peter worked in the private placement group for Prudential Insurance, underwriting and negotiating fixed income and LBO investments. Peter received both his BA (American History) and MBA (Finance) degrees from the University of Minnesota. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Avi Tolani, CFA

Avi Tolani, CFA Photo

Avi Tolani is an analyst on the private credit team at Voya Investment Management. He is responsible for sourcing, analyzing, structuring, and executing senior and junior capital solutions with a focus on the high yield credits. In addition, he is also involved with negotiating and managing the restructuring of the firm’s underperforming credits. Prior to joining Voya, Avi spent seven years focused on the distressed and special situations assets, most recently as a director with Sandler O’Neill & Partners and as a vice president at Gleacher & Company, where he advised companies and creditors in executing a variety of strategic alternatives. Prior to his position at Gleacher & Company, Avi was a member of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ corporate finance practice, where he executed cross-border restructuring and M&A transactions across a broad array of industries. Avi graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in finance and a BA in economics and was a recipient of the Outstanding Scholars Award. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Fitz Wickham, CFA

Fitz Wickham is a credit analyst and a member of the investment grade fixed income research team at Voya Investment Management. His coverage responsibilities include electricity and natural gas utilities, project finance, midstream energy, REITs and tobacco. Previously, Fitz spent six years with the firm’s private credit group, where he managed privately negotiated investments in the energy, utility, banking/brokerage and project finance sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Fitz was a corporate banking relationship manager with Wachovia Securities. Fitz received a BS in commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia and an MBA with a finance concentration from the Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
