Chelsea Shumway is vice president, head of active ownership, at Voya Investment Management, responsible for voting proxies on behalf of our clients, and engaging with issuers in which we invest. Prior to joining Voya, Chelsea was associate director head of governance, research, and voting products at ISS. Prior to that, she was vice president manager of the investment stewardship operations team at BlackRock; assistant vice president sustainability / ESG group at the Government of Singapore Investment Company; proxy operations manager at Wellington Management; and other large institutional asset managers. Chelsea graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island, graduating with Honors in Political Science.
